What is Pilates?
Originally called Contrology, Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates. It is a form of exercises based on the principles of centering, control, breathing, precision, and flow.
Pilates is a method of exercises designed to:
- stretch
- strengthen
- align
- balance the body
How often should I do Pilates?
Making Pilates a part of your weekly routine is ideal.
- Once a week is great.
- Twice a week is even better!

How do a book a session?
- All of your sessions will be booked by your instructor.
- You will have the contact info of your instructor if you need to cancel or reschedule.
(Please be aware of the studio’s 24 hour cancellation policy)
What should I wear?
Comfortable workout clothing:
- Long pants or tights preferred
- Any type of workout shirt or t-shirt
- No zippers, snaps, etc. (These might get caught on equipment or scratch the upholstery.)
If you wear shorts, please be certain to wear bike shorts underneath, as your legs will be up in the air!
Am I in good enough shape to do Pilates?
Everyone can do Pilates. The intention of Pilates is to increase strength and flexibility. Everyone has a different starting point. The great thing about Pilates is that the method can be as beginner or advanced as needed.
