What can I expect from a session at Pilates Plus?

You can expect a welcoming, zero judgement environment where you will enhance your body awareness while having fun!

How do I book a session?

For private sessions please email us directly.  We like to know what you are looking for so we can plan accordingly for your session.  If you are interested in a group class, you can either contact us directly or sign up through Mindbody online or the Mindbody App.

How do I get to the studio?

Pilates Plus is located at 5407 Patterson Ave. Suite 200B.  We are in the large grey building across the street from Betty Baugh’s Animal Clinic.  You can park in the front parking lot (you will see sign for Bagby and Shaw) and go in the door marked 5407. From there, go up the stairs and turn left.  Then proceed down that hall and Pilates Plus will be the last door on your left.

What should I wear?

BE COMFORTABLE!  We recommend any sort of workout gear.  More fitted clothing allows for better view of form.  No need for shoes. Socks are optional.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is so many things to so many people.  But the short answer is- Pilates is intelligent movement of the body. Originally called Contrology, Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates.  It is a form of exercises based on the principles of centering, control, breathing, precision, and flow.  It is a method of exercises designed to stretch, strengthen, align, and balance the body.

How long is a session?

We offer 50 minute sessions as well as half hour focused sessions.  They come in different packages so see our pricing page for details.

What's a reformer or a cadillac?

In short, a torture device. KIDDING.  Though the equipment looks intimidating, the cadillac and reformer and spring resistance based forms of exercise that help support the body in healthy movement.  

How many times should I do Pilates per week?

Joseph Pilates said “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body”.  Honestly, twice a week is usually best.  But any amount of quality movement you can do for your body is great!  We have worked with some clients once a month for stretching and some clients 6 days a week for their workout, it’s really up to you.

Some people just want to stretch- that’s fine!  It’s a great idea to lengthen your body and provides lasting benefits.  You can do a 30 minute or 50 minute stretching session.  Either will be catered to your goals.  You will be amazed at the number of stretches available to you when you use the pilates apparatuses.
